Session-cookie theft via unneutralized poll content
Published Feb 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
DOM-based XSS in Codologic Codoforum 4.8.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to steal session cookies through crafted polls. The topic view automatically inserts attacker-controlled poll content into the DOM without adequate neutralization. A normal account can plant the payload, but account takeover requires another user to open the topic; cookies lacking HttpOnly are exposed to script.
