A stack-based buffer overflow in Moxa EDS-G516E firmware 5.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code or crash the switch. Moxa identifies the IEEE 802.1X web settings page as the locus but does not disclose the affected parameter or copy operation. The management interface must be network-reachable; successful exploitation permits arbitrary code execution or takes the device out of service.
