CVE-2020-7002Public exploit

Code execution via unchecked DPB field lengths

Published Mar 18, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflows in Delta Electronics CNCSoft ScreenEditor 1.00.96 and earlier allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The DPB parser copies attacker-controlled GifName and other file data into fixed-length stack buffers without validating their lengths. Exploitation requires a user to open a crafted DPB file or visit attacker-controlled content, and successful code runs in the application's Administrator context.
