CVE-2020-6999Network attack vector

Service outage via oversized setting-page parameters

Published Mar 26, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Buffer overflow in Moxa EDS-G516E Series firmware 5.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to interrupt switch service. The syslog, DHCP, and PTP setting-page handlers accept text parameters without ensuring that their lengths fit the destination buffers. Access to the management interface is required, and successful exploitation takes the switch out of service without a reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
