Information disclosure via unvalidated DPB Giffile bounds
Published Mar 18, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Delta Electronics CNCSoft ScreenEditor 1.00.96 and earlier allows remote attackers to disclose process memory. The DPB parser accepts untrusted Giffile data without validating its bounds, causing a read past the end of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires a user to open a malicious file or visit a malicious page; the disclosed memory can support a separate exploit chain.
