CVE-2020-6969Network attack vector

Remote panel manipulation via recoverable project credentials

Published Feb 5, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Insufficient credential protection in AutomationDirect C-more EA9 before 6.53 allows attackers to recover credentials from project files. Unprotected project files store credentials and other sensitive data in a reversible masked form rather than protecting them against recovery. Possession of such a project file is required; recovered credentials grant remote panel access that can obscure or alter process data and lock out device access.
