Remote code execution via hard-coded SMB credentials
Published Jan 24, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Use of hard-coded credentials in GE Healthcare ApexPro Telemetry Server 4.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code over SMB. Embedded SMB account credentials are accepted by affected telemetry and clinical information systems, giving attackers authenticated file or service access that can be leveraged for code execution. The attack requires network reachability to the systems; the resulting code execution can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
