CVE-2020-6787

Code execution via installer DLL search path

Published Mar 25, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Uncontrolled DLL loading in Bosch Video Client 1.7.6.079 and earlier allows local users to execute code through its installer. The installer searches its launch directory for a DLL without restricting the path and loads an attacker-supplied library placed there. Exploitation requires the victim to place the malicious DLL beside the installer and launch it; the code runs in the victim's user context.
