Stored XSS via unsanitized disclaimer description
Published Mar 17, 2020 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
Stored XSS in the FortiWeb GUI in 6.2.2 and earlier and 6.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via a disclaimer description. The GUI stores the Disclaimer Description without neutralizing attacker-supplied markup, so the replacement message renders it as active browser content. Administrative access and subsequent viewing of the stored disclaimer are required; execution is confined to the viewer's browser context.
