Process crash via crafted SWF GETURL2 action
Published Jan 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in Ming 0.4.8 allows context-dependent attackers to crash swftophp via a crafted SWF file. In decompileGETURL2() in util/decompile.c, processing the malformed action reads through a null operand pointer at line 924. Exploitation requires a user or workflow to process the file with swftophp, terminating that process without reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
