CVE-2020-6476Network attack vector

Navigation restriction bypass via malicious extension

Published May 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Insufficient policy enforcement in Google Chrome before 83.0.4103.61 allows attackers to bypass navigation restrictions through an extension. The tab strip fails to enforce navigation restrictions for crafted Chrome Extension behavior, but Google has not published the responsible function or validation error. Exploitation requires a user to install a crafted malicious extension; the resulting impact is limited to navigation-policy bypass.
