Heap corruption via WebSQL out-of-bounds read
Published Apr 13, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in WebSQL in Google Chrome before 81.0.4044.92 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory via crafted HTML. The WebSQL component reads past an allocated memory boundary while processing attacker-controlled page content; Google has not disclosed the affected function or operation. Exploitation requires a user to open the page, and the public record establishes no more specific consequence than heap corruption.
