Domain spoofing via misclassified IDN homographs

Insufficient input validation in Google Chrome before 80.0.3987.87 allows remote attackers to spoof domains using crafted IDN homographs. The Omnibox IDN display logic accepts a crafted Unicode hostname as safe and renders confusable characters instead of the visibly distinct Punycode form. A victim must navigate to the crafted domain; the spoof can misrepresent the destination and facilitate phishing but does not change the actual origin.
