Unauthenticated takeover via unchecked SOAP administration
Published Jul 14, 2020 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Missing authentication in SAP NetWeaver AS Java (LM Configuration Wizard) allows remote attackers to create administrators via SOAP. In affected 7.30, 7.31, 7.40, and 7.50 releases, CTCWebService executes administration tasks from HTTP SOAP requests without authenticating the caller. The service is exposed by default; HTTP access is sufficient to create administrative accounts and assign authorizations, compromising the SAP Java system without existing credentials.
