Authenticated ABAP code execution via unsanitized RFM input
Published May 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Code injection in SAP ST-PI allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary ABAP code through a remote-enabled function module. The /SDF/GEN_FUNCS_FUNC_CALL module concatenates unchecked PT_IMPORTING VALUE data into a generated subroutine pool, letting crafted quote characters escape the intended string and alter executable ABAP. Exploitation requires S_RFC authorization for a callable function group and enables database reads or writes, privilege escalation, service interruption, and OS-command execution under the application-server account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
