Trace-data integrity compromise via incomplete XML validation
Published Jun 10, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper input validation in SAP Solution Manager Trace Analysis before 7.20 allows attackers to inject superfluous data into displayed trace results. The trace-analysis XML parser accepts unvalidated elements or content and renders data that are not present in the underlying transaction, impairing trace integrity and readability. The record describes an unauthenticated network-reachable attack, but does not report code execution or direct system compromise.
