CVE-2020-6227Network attack vector

Log forgery via crafted GIOP packets

Published Apr 14, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper input validation in SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform before 4.2 allows remote attackers to forge GLF log entries. CMS and auditing services accept crafted GIOP packets and place attacker-controlled data into GLF files without adequate validation or output encoding. No privileges are required, but user interaction is required; the reported consequence is log-integrity loss, not disclosure or service interruption.
