Administrative compromise via cleartext password response
Published Apr 14, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform CMC 4.1 and 4.2 allows attackers to obtain a cleartext password. A CMC response exposes the password in cleartext, but SAP's public record does not identify the request, response field, or workflow that produces it. Exploitation requires social engineering to gain system access; a disclosed administrative password permits reading, changing, or deleting data and rights.
