Root code execution via unvalidated Host Agent executable
Published Feb 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper input validation in SAP Landscape Management 3.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute malicious files as root. An administrative operation forwards an executable to SAP Host Agent, but SAP has not disclosed the affected function or exact missing validation. An SAP Landscape Management administrator must reach that operation; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code with root privileges on a managed host.
