CVE-2020-6183Network attack vector

Unauthorized root-derived reads and shared-memory writes

Published Feb 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Missing authorization in SAPOSCOL in SAP SE SAP Host Agent 7.21 allows local users to read root-derived data and write shared memory. The main SAPOSCOL process accepts requests from an unprivileged process without checking authorization, then reads or modifies its shared-memory segment with root privileges. An unprivileged account able to reach this process interface can obtain directory sizes, hardware and OS details, or alter collector shared memory; no service interruption is established.
