Uncontrolled resource consumption in The Update Framework 0.7.2 through 0.12.1 allows attackers to delay updates via invalid signatures. The client attempts to validate every signature in repository metadata, so hundreds or thousands of invalid copies consume minutes of verification time. Exploitation requires write access to repository metadata and delays update processing rather than changing trusted content.
