Stored XSS and settings changes via missing nonce
Published Jan 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
CSRF in WebFactory Minimal Coming Soon & Maintenance Mode 2.10 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter settings through a crafted link. The settings handler accepts signals_csmm_submit POST requests without verifying a WordPress nonce, saving attacker-controlled values as administrator-approved configuration. Exploitation requires an administrator to follow the link; it can enable maintenance mode, store JavaScript in custom HTML, or load a remote logo.
