CVE-2020-6110Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file write via unchecked ZIP extraction

Published Jun 8, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Path traversal in Zoom Client for Meetings 4.6.10 and 4.6.11 allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary files via chat. The code-snippet handler automatically extracts downloaded ZIP content without validating member paths, allowing traversal outside its random preview directory. The broadest write requires a recipient to save a disguised shared file before a second snippet message reuses its identifier; constrained binary planting otherwise occurs automatically.
