Code execution via malformed TIFF raster data
Published Feb 11, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in ImageGear 19.5.0 allows context-dependent attackers to execute code by supplying a malformed TIFF file. The igcore19d.dll TIFF tifread parser reaches an invalid byte write while IG_load_file processes the crafted raster data. Exploitation requires an integrating application to load the file, after which code runs in that application's security context.
