Cleartext credential exposure in F5 BIG-IP Edge Client 7.1.5 through 7.1.8 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to capture password hashes. During captive portal detection, the client answers a malicious portal's HTTP authentication challenge and sends the enterprise password hash without transport encryption. Exploitation requires VPN use on an unsecured network controlled by the attacker; the documented consequence is credential-hash disclosure.
