Reflected XSS via incorrect portal base URL
Published Apr 30, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in affected F5 BIG-IP Access Policy Manager releases allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim's browser. The Portal Access response rewriter derives an incorrect base URL from a crafted HTTP request and emits attacker-controlled content into the rewritten backend response without safe neutralization. Exploitation requires authenticated portal access, a configured untrusted backend, and user interaction; successful script execution can read or alter data available to the victim's browser session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=15.1.0-15.1.0.1, 15.0.0-15.0.1.2, 14.1.0-14.1.2.3
