CVE-2020-5882Network attack vector

Traffic disruption via QAT driver core dump

Published Apr 30, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Denial of service in F5 Networks BIG-IP 15.0.0-15.0.1.3 allows attackers to interrupt traffic via a QAT driver core dump. The Intel QuickAssist Technology cryptography driver can cause the Traffic Management Microkernel to write a core file and restart under certain conditions. The affected behavior requires QAT-capable BIG-IP configurations; recovery temporarily interrupts traffic processing and can trigger high-availability failover, with no evidence of data disclosure or modification.
