Traffic interruption via NDAL interface lockup
Published Apr 30, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Denial of service in F5 Networks BIG-IP Virtual Edition allows remote attackers to interrupt traffic processing over the network. The Network Device Abstraction Layer interfaces lock and break communication between the mcpd and tmm processes; F5 has not disclosed the triggering network state. Reachability requires VLAN groups and connected OSPF devices, and the documented consequence is a service interruption rather than data access or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=15.0.0-15.1.0.1, 14.1.0-14.1.2.3, 13.1.0-13.1.3.3
