CVE-2020-5847Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated root code execution via query-variable overwrite

Published Mar 16, 2020 · Updated Oct 21, 2025

Code injection in the Unraid OS WebGUI through 6.8.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code as root over the network. The template.php handler passes the untrusted query array to extract(), letting supplied site and path values place PHP in page text that DefaultPageLayout.php evaluates. No credentials or user interaction are required; successful exploitation grants unrestricted control of the appliance and its files.
