Stored script execution via unencoded category names
Published Jan 7, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Codologic Codoforum 4.8.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in an administrator's browser. A category name is stored without effective input neutralization and later inserted into the Manage Users admin page without output encoding. Category-management privileges are required, and execution occurs only when an administrator opens that page, allowing browser-session data to be read or page actions to be altered.
