CVE-2020-5805

Administrative access via cleartext Tomcat credentials

Published Jan 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Cleartext credential storage in Marvell QConvergeConsole GUI 5.5.0.74 and earlier allows local users to obtain administrative QCC access. The bundled Tomcat configuration writes the QCC account's password as a readable password attribute in tomcat-users.xml. Any OS-level account that can read this file can reuse the stored credential to enter QCC with its assigned administrative and manager roles.
