CVE-2020-5804Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated arbitrary file deletion via path traversal

Published Jan 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Path traversal in Marvell QConvergeConsole GUI 5.5.0.74 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary files over HTTP. The deleteEventLogFile method of GWTTestServiceImpl passes a user-supplied path to a file-deletion operation without validating traversal sequences. A valid QCC session is required, and deletion runs with SYSTEM or root privileges, allowing loss of any file accessible to the service.
