Authenticated persistent XSS via unsanitized test name
Published May 7, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in TCExam 14.2.2 allows remote authenticated attackers to execute persistent script via a crafted test. The index.php test-listing path passes an unsanitized test name through F_testInfoLink in shared/code/tce_functions_test.php, allowing stored JavaScript to execute when users view assigned tests. Attackers require authenticated level-5-or-higher access to create a test; execution affects users who open the affected test view, enabling script-driven actions in their sessions.
