Test metadata disclosure via unchecked test identifier
Published May 7, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper access control in TCExam 14.2.2 allows remote authenticated users to read unauthorized test metadata through its web interface. The public/code/tce_popup_test_info.php endpoint accepts a user-controlled testid GET parameter and returns the selected test record without verifying authorization for that test. Any student account at privilege level 1 or higher can expose scheduling, duration, scoring, and passing-threshold metadata for otherwise inaccessible tests.
