Reflected XSS via unsanitized error-page path
Published Apr 17, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in OpenMRS Core 2.9.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim's browser through a crafted URL. The UI Framework Error Page inserts attacker-controlled path content into its response without neutralizing HTML, so a decoded tag becomes executable markup. Exploitation requires a victim to open the crafted URL; resulting script runs in that user's OpenMRS origin and can read or alter browser-accessible data.
