CVE-2020-5603

Denial of service via unbounded XML processing

Published Jun 30, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Uncontrolled resource consumption in Mitsubishi Electric FA engineering software allows attackers to cause denial of service with crafted data files. The affected XML-processing path consumes resources without adequate bounds when it loads malicious project or configuration data. A user must open attacker-supplied data in an affected desktop tool, after which the application becomes unavailable; no broader system impact is reported.
