CVE-2020-5592Network attack vector

Browser script execution via unsafe tagged-content encoding

Published Jun 11, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Cross-site scripting in Zenphoto before 1.5.7 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript in a user's browser via stored content. The html_encodeTagged() function encodes only non-tag text while passing script-bearing markup used in album and image descriptions and page or news content. A victim must view the rendered attacker-controlled content, and the script then runs in the Zenphoto site's browser origin.
