Memory corruption in Toyota 2017 Model Year DCUs allows physically proximate attackers to execute commands or interrupt the unit via Bluetooth. Two pre-pairing flaws in the in-vehicle Bluetooth service perform a heap out-of-bounds read and a heap-buffer overflow during connection setup. Exploitation requires specialized knowledge, a special tool, and prolonged proximity; some vehicle functions are reachable, but steering, braking, and throttle are not.
