CVE-2020-5528Network attack vector

Script execution via crafted editor URL

Published Feb 6, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Cross-site scripting in Six Apart Movable Type allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary script in a logged-in user's browser. The block editor and rich text editor execute script or HTML embedded in a specially crafted URL instead of treating the URL as untrusted content. No authentication is required to supply the URL, but a logged-in user must open it; the resulting script runs in that user's browser context.
