Arbitrary JavaScript execution via unencoded userInfoJson
Published Jan 4, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in MITREid Connect 1.3.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through crafted user profile data. The header.tag template embeds userInfoJson directly inside a script block without encoding, so a closing script tag starts attacker-controlled JavaScript. Exploitation requires a victim to load the affected page; demonstrated effects include browser-side role-check bypass without verified server-side modification.
