CVE-2020-5399

Credential disclosure via ignored MySQL TLS setting

Published Feb 12, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Cleartext database communication in Cloud Foundry CredHub before 2.5.10 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to access stored credentials. The MySQL connection path fails to apply the enabled TLS requirement, leaving database traffic unencrypted. An attacker positioned between CredHub and MySQL can eavesdrop on credentials and use them to gain unauthorized access to CredHub or dependent components.
