Path traversal in Dell OpenManage Enterprise before 3.4 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite arbitrary files with a crafted tar file. The appliance's tar extraction logic accepts directory traversal sequences in archive entry paths and writes embedded RPMs outside the intended directory. High privileges are required; exploitation can inject malicious RPMs, interrupt service, or perform unauthorized actions on the appliance.
