Unauthorized network reachability via SSH forwarding
Published Oct 21, 2022 · Updated May 7, 2025
Incorrect default permissions in Dell Isilon OneFS 8.2.2 and earlier allow remote authenticated users to forward traffic through SSH. The SSHD configuration leaves TCP and UNIX-domain stream forwarding enabled for restricted shells, including the default remotesupport account. A holder of such an account can use the cluster as a forwarding point to reach network services beyond the access intended for that restricted shell.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
