Arbitrary file deletion via unchecked asset path
Published Jun 3, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in October CMS 1.0.319 through 1.0.465 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files. The backend onSave handler passes an unvalidated templatePath into Asset::save, while getFilePath fails to enforce the theme-assets boundary. The account must hold cms.manage_assets permission, and deletion is limited to files writable by the web-server process.
