CVE-2020-5228Network attack vector

Media disclosure via anonymous OAI-PMH access

Published Jan 30, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Missing authorization in Opencast before 7.6 and Opencast 8.0 allows remote attackers to read all media and metadata through OAI-PMH. The default organization security configuration assigns ROLE_ANONYMOUS to GET and POST requests under /oaipmh/**, while the default workflow publishes media to that repository. Exposure requires OAI-PMH publication to remain enabled in the default workflow; the consequence is unauthorized disclosure of event recordings and metadata.
