Restricted file disclosure via unchecked ZIP endpoint
Published Jan 14, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper access control in Cerberus FTP Server 8 allows remote authenticated users to download restricted files through the Web Client. The file/ajax_download_zip/zip_name endpoint accepts a caller-controlled ID and creates a ZIP archive without checking the caller's ZIP permission or file visibility. The caller must have an authenticated Web Client session and download permission; successful requests disclose file contents within the account's jailed root.
