Privilege escalation in Viscosity 1.8.2 on Windows and macOS allows local users to execute code via crafted OpenVPN parameters. Viscosity accepts user-controlled OpenVPN parameters and loads a malicious library into the OpenVPN process. Exploitation requires an unprivileged local account and a TLS/SSL client profile; the resulting process runs with limited privileges, constraining impact.
