CVE-2020-4954

Authentication bypass via attacker-controlled server session

Published Feb 15, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Authentication bypass in IBM Spectrum Protect Operations Center 7.1 and 8.1 allows remote attackers to access limited debug functions. The configuration panel accepts a valid session obtained through an attacker-controlled IBM Spectrum Protect server because session validation is improper. Network adjacency and control of a separate Spectrum Protect server are required, and resulting access is limited to debug functions such as logging levels.
