CVE-2020-4945Network attack vector

Arbitrary file overwrite via improper group permissions

Published Jun 24, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper group permissions in IBM Db2 11.5 on Linux and UNIX allow remote authenticated users to overwrite arbitrary files. IBM identifies the permissions error but does not disclose the affected file or directory, the Db2 component that assigns the permissions, or the triggering request path. A valid Db2 account and network access are required; successful exploitation changes file contents without reported data disclosure or service interruption.
