Data access and injection via unauthorized protocol messages
Published May 24, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Improper authorization in IBM Spectrum Scale 5.1 and IBM Storage Scale System 6.1 allows local users to access or inject protocol data. The core component accepts arbitrary data sent to CLI commands and the daemon over its internal communication protocol without enforcing authorization. Exploitation requires local access and high-complexity conditions; successful abuse exposes user data or alters protocol data without interrupting service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
